Experiments
The Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF) exposed a number of dedicated experiments designed to study the effects of long-term exposure on active and passive systems to the low-Earth orbit (LEO) environment. In addition, all other experiments and spacecraft hardware was examined in order to gather as much information as possible on systems from all LDEF materials and systems that did not reside on dedicated systems experiments.
