The contributions of the Ionziing Radiation Experiments are unparalleled in U.S. space history. The LDEF satellite, with its unplanned extended flight, produced data that are unparalleled in its statistical accuracy. The results of this data have greatly enchanced cosmic-ray astrophysics, radiation dosimetry, and environment modelling. The dedication of the researchers, who have contributed two decades of time to their experiments, contributed to the success of the mission. In summary, the 69 months in space will have an impact on our knowledge of our space environment for years to come.
