PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Research Associate; Institute for Space Science and Technology: Member of the Clementine ISA and LDEF Interplanetary Dust Experiment (IDE) data reduction teams and a key person in orbital debris contract work with Lockheed.
• Involved in several educational programs, including the Student Science Training Program and projects at the Northeast Regional Data Center regarding high school students and supercomputers.
• Received grant from Rotary International to establish SOCRATES, an electronic science information service with Internet connectivity.
• ISST scientific programmer and computer systems manager, responsible for a small network of personal computers (IBM PC and Macintosh), a UNIX workstation, and a Digital Equipment Corporation VAX.

Graduate Research Associate; Department of Astronomy, University of Florida:

• Departmental computer systems manager and network coordinator. Supervised the transition of the department's computing from an isolated VAX 11/750 to a globally-connected network of over twenty high-performance UNIX workstations. Responsibilities included daily maintenance, installation of TeX, IRAF, and other packages, and the performance benchmarking of various computer types.

Graduate Assistant; Department of Astronomy, University of Florida:

• Developed pointing algorithm for Gamma Ray Advanced Detector balloon-borne instrument.
• Responsible for educational outreach, campus observatory operations and public relations.

Graduate Research Assistant; Space Astronomy Laboratory, University of Florida:

• Determined pointing of Shuttle Induced Atmosphere Experiment (SIA) payload aboard STS-3.
• Assisted in post-flight radiometric calibration of SIA using background stars.
• Assisted in pre-flight calibration of the Halley Optical probe Experiment (HOPE) aboard ESA's Giotto space probe, involving travel to facilities in Paris and Heidelberg.
